Offering chemical peels to your practice will be one of the single most lucrative moves you make as an esthetician.
Peels have been used for more than 5,000 years, dating back the the Egyptians who used a form of chemical peeling with the use of fruit acids, and by the Victorian era physicians began using aggressive, deep peels with tricholoroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, and phenol. These peels became very popular with celebrities during the 1930s and 1940s.

Being an esthetician who performs a series of light peels, such as glycolic acid at 30% or less, lactic acid, also 30% or less, and enzyme peels, and some cases Jessner's solution of 1-3 coats maximum, will give you credibility in your chosen field. You will be instructed on the process of layered peels, and most importantly, you will be introduced to PCA products, which incorporate well with chemical peels.
